Frequently Asked Questions for our TESOL course

TP2
Why should I take your course?

Our course offers 120 hours of class time, 10 hours of teacher practice and it is externally modified by a governing body. This exceeds the minimum requirements of most governing bodies of TESOL courses.

You will have the opportunity to teach adults and children. This is important because the majority of potential employers expect a teacher who is capable of teaching both.

We offer a supportive and friendly environment as well as culturally immersive home-stays. There are regular excursions around or near the school location
. In attending our course, you also have the unique opportunity to learn French/Arabic as well. (Of course for an additional fee)We also provide the unique opportunity to exchange language with local native French/Arabic speakers.

What is the difference between a TESOL certificate and a CELTA certificate?

TESOL (Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages) is primarily a United States institution which issues certificates. A CELTA (Certificate for Language Teaching to Adults) is a British institution and is widely known because it is the first of its kind.

Distance learning is much less expensive, why not do that?

The problem with distance learning is that there is no observed teacher practice. This component is essential for prospective employers. Our program offers eight plus hours of observed teacher practice.

Will my certificate be recognized in the world?

Yes, upon completion of the course, along with your certificate, you will receive a detailed outline of exactly what the course entails. This informs a future employer of exactly how you were trained. This includes an itemized list of components with a detailed description and the number of hours completed.

Who will I teach during Teacher Practice?

We provide a combination of adults and students which is not provided by many TESOL programs. We feel our trainees need exposure to both in order to be prepared for professional teaching.

How difficult is your certificate program?

While you can expect a lot of work to do during the course, it is logically presented but at an intensive pace. You must come with a positive attitude and be prepared to work. It is an intensive course and you should come ready to focus without distraction. If you follow instructions and are diligent with assignments you should have no problems completing the course.

Will I be able to get a job?

Of course you will. Basically, the certificate will be accepted as qualification to teach in private language schools anywhere in the world. For mainstream education, that is to say, within a school system of a said country a different certification is required. Demand for native English speaking teachers varies from country to country. If you want to work in a specific country, research the current demand of that said country. It’s best to be flexible, that is, have a first choice, a second choice etc.

Do you provide job placement?

We provide job assistance around the world. Our assistance inludes providing schools to be contacted for employment in  France, Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Turkey, Italy and Spain.   For the rest of the world, we provide advice, websites, contacts and CV assistance. While there is no guaranteed job placement we do everything we can to insure success with finding a job.

What are the requirements for acceptance to your program?

All native English speakers or near native English speakers who are 21 years old or more with recognized university degrees are welcomed to apply.

When and how do I pay for the course?

Remember you have not secured a place until we have received a deposit payment. Along with an acceptance letter, you will receive a link to our secured payment site. Here you can pay by credit card or bank transfer.

What if I'm not a native English Speaker?
